Be sure to call or meet in person with the band leader leader to get a sense of how they will be to work with. It's your big day and they should be willing to do anything they can help make your day perfect for two of you. Ask if they will learn any song for your special dances that they don't already play or if it's okay if uncle Bob sits in on guitar for a song or two. If sense resistance or they mention an additional fees, find another band. Always ask if there are any additional fees for travel, taxes or other that will show up in the contract. The fee you discuss should always be all inclusive - don't sign any contract that isn't all inclusive. I came across this post today and it is appauling.  " we met with the booking agent for .... Orchestras in their lovely Upper West Side offices. the  schtick is that all the bands are led by female bandleaders. cute, no? although the two principals of the ( -named group - ) were booked for our date (at their going rate of about $28K per wedding), there were two orchestras still available:  (just under $20K). both singers were very talented in their genre, but we felt that when confronted with hip-hop or rock, their interpretations left something to be desired. for some reason all the Starlight bands evoked the  Sweeney Sisters from Saturday Night Live" 2010      I dont discredit anyone for making the money, but this is robbery with a smile and this is a warning to brides and grooms that this is foolery. Regardless of your income and status, this is still unnecessary- the quality is out there. I implore you to shop and don't be sold on what looks glossy, cheesy and qu
