If you've been to A few weddings, what do you really remember:
From the flowers and the candles to the dress and the ride, the typical wedding can be as predictable and generic as your Uncle Leo's dance moves. For your wedding to stand out, you need to involve your guests in the sentiment and process of the day. Its not the cake or the great food that will be remembered, but the time of a lifetime and the beautiful bride. We have been to many wedding and it ALWAYS comes down to the entertainment..Even as we are hired- every couple states we want to have fun, dance- and have a great party...Well-The lighting may be great, limo ride cool, and the cake tastes great... but it is the Entertainment and the flow of your night that will stand out in your memory book and your guests!
Here are a couple ideas to make your wedding a "PARTY" in every sense of the word while maintaining your vision- whether very sophisticated or simplistic.
1. Hire the best Live entertainment: Its just a fact. From organic crowd interraction to a groovin horn section-dynamics of some incredible solos during dinner to the all out dance party:
Energy.
A diverse band will do wonders and get all your guests involved. From the energy of live spontaneous music during the introductions to the dance party.. When you hire the right band, your guests will truly be thankful of the incredible time they had!
2. Have the photographer take a "class' photo. This photo should include everyone in attendance. As the band plays up tempo music and folks gather, Ive seen this on occasion to be an amazing part of many nights!!  When the photo is done- Groom can say a few words and back to dancin up a storm!!
3. Remember that this wedding is about celebrating your love and inviting your family and friends to see a glimpse of who you are. Don't be afraid to do things a little differently... your guests will appreciate and remember your day all the more for it!
4. Keep an open mind when choosing music. It is your night of course, but sometimes our older generation may feel left out later in the evening as the party gets rocking. Try and do some great classics earlier in the evening to appease as many as possible. These songs  are classic for a reason- when played live--it can be very rocking for all ages...!!
6. Instead of a stationary keyboardist- try a classical guitar player strolling about the cocktail hour- asking guests what they might like to hear-from Danny Boy to The Theme from the Godfather to Billy Joel to anything your guests may request- this is not only unique but adds a flavor of keeping your guests part of the night!  And- its very cool..

7. We may have a bouquet and garter for the ladies, what about the guys..it may even feel cheesy at first and we are not about cheese :) but think about the best times you've had with the fellas doing something creative with the entertainment- from a sing a long to conducting the band-- there is always something we can do.  Its up to you.
5. Its your night..Be spontaneous and get jiggy with it!
